At the Amethyst Bucharest centre, eligible patients can access, through CNAS, radiotherapy including stereotactic radiotherapy and brachytherapy, medical oncology treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as CT scans with a referral. Mandatory rules during hospitalisationThe Bucharest centre operates three Elekta VersaHD linear accelerators, a remote-afterloading brachytherapy system and a CT simulator dedicated to treatment planning. All scans and treatments take place at the same location, with no travel between units.

Our team brings together radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, medical physicists, radiotherapy and radiology technicians, nurses who monitor treatment toxicity, medical oncology nurses and clinical pharmacists. The team also includes a psychologist, who supports patients throughout treatment, and a nutritionist, who provides nutritional counselling tailored to their needs.
Each treatment plan is reviewed and agreed by a multidisciplinary board, then personalised according to each patient’s diagnosis and circumstances.

Effective cancer treatment requires several specialists working together. At the Amethyst Bucharest centre, patients' cases can be reviewed by a multidisciplinary board, where doctors from different specialties discuss the treatment options and agree on the treatment strategy.
This process, known as a Tumor Board, allows each case to be assessed from several medical perspectives before the treatment plan is proposed to the patient.
The Amethyst Bucharest centre has its own closed-circuit pharmacy, where cancer medication for chemotherapy and immunotherapy is prepared by specialised staff, under controlled conditions, individually for each patient, according to the treatment plan set by the doctor.
The treatment is prepared in the same clinic where it is given, in day hospital care. Patients do not have to look for cytostatic drugs in pharmacies around town, which reduces the risk of delays between sessions.
Scans, planning and treatment all take place in the same clinic, with no travel between units and no intermediaries between the results and the treating doctor.
